Worst company Ever avoid them

Picked up my personal property on June 20, 2022 they didn't deliver until Aug. 1, 2022 after repeated calls and advising them that we were not in Florida the destination of our move. They don't listen and are a rip off charging a 7% credit charge. my cost increased over $1200.00 plus they use a 3rd party for the final drop off. There should be negative stars. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND KEVIN WILSON IS HORRIBLE.

Move yourself..Your life will be so much better.

First of all..If you haven't heard from other reviews, these people are a broker. All they do is google search movers in your area and then go with the cheapest, poorly rated one they can find. We did not hire the end company and were only told the day before they arrived. Basically we kinda got the hint there was something fishy going on when they told us to make the money order out to a different company but we were never told outright who was showing up. We were told the day before our move that they would be there to pick up our stuff on sunday instead of saturday, now we have to change our hotel reservation. Sunday comes and they said they would call us before they arrived. They did not. Only after they appeared did we meet One Way Van Lines. The Crew of three took 4 hrs to move a house that was completely packed except for large items like beds and dressers. One of the crew even hung out on his phone for a decent amount of time so they other guys could get some work done, how nice..When they finally got the load packed and we looked at the paper work we realized that not only could these guys not speak english but they couldn't write in english either.
As Soon as they left we had to rush out to get to our hotel in north carolina, we were moving from Delaware to Florida. Once we got to Florida we were immediately asked for a move in date. Our house didn't close for about a month/ month and a half and we let them know as soon as we found a place that we could move in on September 4th. We heard nothing from One Way until WE called on the 4th to get a status update. We were then informed that Charter told us 5 business days to get our stuff, and that was a lie. We were then told by dispatch that it would be 10 days and that it should be sent out that coming friday. We hear nothing on friday so we start emailing and calling, just to be told that they only one who can answer our questions is bryan or Brayn Lucas from one way. So, we are told by one ways office to keep trying him and we did..for a whole week. Now since we are not getting a response we start contacting the BBB of the state where we One way is located (Maryland) and Florida as well as the attorney general. They suggested that we contact the local Police in Maryland. After contacting the Sheriff they said they knew exactly who One way was and would send an officer over there to check things out since they said they knew they were a scam. As we were sending the Sheriff over I got on the phone with Charters Customer service that swore up and down that One way was Awesome and that I shouldn't believe the negative reviews. Well, after laughing at how stupid and naive they thought I was I was put on hold and when she came back I was told that she called bryan from one way and that he said we spoke to us the day before. We did not! After I got off the phone with Charter we heard back from the police that said that One Way could hold our belongings for up to 21 days and that while Charter spoke to Bryan at One way the office staff told the police that he was out of the country. I proceeded to inform Charter that The person they said they talked to was out of the country so how could they have reached him so quickly especially since he was not returning any of our calls or emails. Finally, after my wife loses her cool with the staff at One way she is told to only contact bryan and to leave them alone. We only want a move in window that isn't weeks away so we can plan out work and school. Read the reviews on both One way and Charter Van Lines the 5 star ones are most likely fake and I've reached out to the ones that give a heck of a lot of detail and we are all seeking legal action. See the pictures below of their packing list and tell me if you want these people handling your life possessions.

Friendly, professional and simply great!

I’ve submitted a request for movers a week prior to my moving date and few companies including one way vanlines have contacted me soon after. Right away I was pretty impressed with One Way’s prompt response. They called me almost immediately after I submitted the request for movers.

Zeke (rep that helped me with my moving) was very helpful and professional throughout the whole scheduling and moving process. The estimate He gave me was a just a bit higher than some other companies where offering but I chose to go with One Way anyway.

I felt like I could trust them with my stuff and they did not disappoint me! I scheduled my move for the morning and the movers arrived as agreed sometime between 9-10am.

Overall, they’ve done a wonderful job. All items were wrapped appropriately (Zeke suggested to include additional wrapping for some of the things that had glass doors and such) and nothing was damaged except for my Ikea bookshelf (not surprised) but the movers did warn us about that being a possibility prior to moving it.

The move took a bit longer than was quoted because we’ve made a last minute decision to drop off some of the items at the storage unit near our new home. There was no additional fee for the extra stop, so that was great and I was pleasantly also surprised about that!

Thanks again to One Way Vanlines for doing a terrific job! I will definitely recommend them and use them in future.

Long-distance move from Alexandria, VA to Providence, RI

Worst Company Ever!

This is THE WORST company I have ever dealt with in my entire life! If I could give them a zero, I would. DO NOT do business with this company. The owner is the sketchiest human on the planet and he's running a labor sweatshop. I didn't choose this company, I unknowingly hired a broker (Purple Heart Movers) and One way is their vendor.

To start, they couldn't give me an actual date for the move or delivery, said they'd give me at least 24 hours notice but didn't even do that. I got an email at 5pm on a Tuesday saying the movers would be arriving the next day b/w 11am and 1pm, after I had already been told by Purple Heart that Thursday would be my date. I wasn't finished packing yet and was frantically packing all night. They didn't arrive til 6pm and ended up finishing my move at 11:15pm. They couldn't give me a delivery date or range. I was told by the broker that it would be 2-5 days and it was delivered 9 days after they picked it up.

Most of my furniture was damaged, even through the blanket wrap. I have enormous scratches on all of my high end vintage furniture, my mattresses were completely dirty b/c the plastic that was on them was ripped. Most of my boxes were smashed and I don't even know why I bothered writing fragile or glass on anything b/c they were slamming everything down.

On the delivery, they sent two movers to move my 700sq ft home to a 2nd floor apartment and it took over 6 hours. At the end, my sofa was on the sidewalk and the owner of the company called to say they weren't moving it until I paid them more money becuase my stuff took up more space in the truck. So I had to call the police.

My very expensive vintage velvet sofa had 3 broken legs, one was rammed so far into the sofa and will need the entire bottom redone, and one side of the sofa now has issues with the springs. The velvet cushions were taped (not blanket wrapped) with cheap, tight tape, leaving marks on them. Two of my lamps no longer work and one of my mirrors was shattered.

Floors were scratched, walls had holes in them, my staircase was broken, and one of my bed frames went through a screen b/c it wasn't handled properly.

And, when I checked my credit card statement, they charged me more than what was on my invoice so I had to file a credit card dispute. They should be paying me for this move b/c it was a disaster. The move cost much more than was estimated and the company was basically holding my stuff hostage for delivery, unless I paid them more money. I did not so they charged my credit card more.

Do NOT use this company. And if you use a broker, make sure you tell them you don't want this company to touch your stuff. The only thing they have going for them is Deena, their customer service rep. Their movers are nice enough but they didn't treat my stuff with care. And the owner, Ramon, has no business owning a company that handles one of life's most stressful events. He's a bully, extortionist, and just an overall horrible human.

Use another company.

I am reposting this review from my BBB compliant.

I should first say that I thought the service and business practices were so poor that I opened a BBB complaint. If that's not enough to stop you from purchasing their services, then keep reading (or just look at the photos and save yourself a few minutes. My favorite is the one with the bird feces on the box. Imagine sitting that on your carpet. Very happy to have a balcony.)

Short version: It took about 4 weeks and $1641 at least 20% more than I was quoted after adjusting for the additional cu. ft. from my estimate.

Long version:
In late February, I began doing an cursory search for moving companies and came across a site that sent all my contact information to companies (One Way Van Lines "OWVL" included). This was a bit premature so I held off on all correspondence. On Mar. 20, I emailed Gary to get an updated quote on my moving estimate that he had sent in 2/26. The original quote was 375 cf for $1250.

Gary and I corresponded again on 3/22 as I was awaiting final approval on the apartment and I inquired about price to which he said "the price is more dictated by the amount of cubic feet the inventory takes up). 3/24 I contacted Gary to confirm service as I received approval and lease . 3/26 Gary replied and indicated he was out of the office over the weekend, indicated a 20% upfront deposit and that "delivery is 2 to 5 business days to FL."

In a following call and email, Gary and "the scheduler" indicated the price went up from $935 to $1200 for 200cf because "considering the last week of any month fills up very quickly". When I asked initially about a price change, there was no mention of this.

I confirmed & paid on $240 (CC) 3/26. Pickup was 3/27. The truck was empty, even though they said they were "squeezing me in". He asked when I wanted delivery and I paid the $720 (check) due at pick-up and said ASAP. I would be in FL 3/28.

After 3/26 I heard nothing until 4/2 7:54am a non-descript email from George Darsel for the delivery window. I replied at 8:42am with availability of Wed 4/4. By close of business on 4/3 I received no reply nor any new invoices or procedures. I contacted George & Gary again at 7:59pm on 4/3 to inquire when the window was. No reply. I waited until Thur, 4/5 at 9am. I was put on hold by Zeke, then told dispatch was not available and that I would receive an email response in a few hours. By 4pm, I still had no response. I called again & was finally told by Ramon that my shipment was being loaded either 4/5 or 4/6 and I would receive an email as soon as it was done. 4/6 came and went with no communication again.

On Sat. 4/7 at 11:58am I received a call saying that he was confirming my delivery for 4/8 between 2-5pm. I told him I did not know my delivery had been scheduled, but that 2-5pm was fine. An hour later I got 3 calls (1:08pm no voicemail-VM, 1:09pm left VM, and 1:13pm no VM.) saying she was confirming my delivery for between 11a-2pm. I had to ask the woman to find out the actual time (she wasn't going to at first). Later got a call from another person saying the balance was $606. $606 + $240 deposit + $720 a pickup is NOT the quoted $1200. I called OWVL, had a long conversation w/ Ramone who informed me that my shipment was larger than the 200cf quote (250cf) and that was the primary reason for the $300 increase. I was not told about a new invoice until 4/7. Ramone even confirmed they should've told me that day (3/27). He did not initially take any consideration to the issues I presented and indeed belittled them. At the end, he offered a minor discount bringing the balance to $438. An hour later, I got a call that I would have to pay another $350 to use a "shuttle" to bring my delivery.

Sunday I don't hear anything until 1:11pm that they supposedly looked and still wants to use a shuttle, but they didn't have one that day so they held the delivery. $1641 and 4 weeks later, I received boxes they literally taped together. (These were brand new boxes with heavy duty scotch packing tape on them.)

WHATEVER YOU DO, JUST DON'T DO IT WITH THEM.

Long-distance move from Vienna, MD to Auburn, WA

Very pleased.

I used these movers to transport large pieces of extremely top quality home furniture to my residence at Auburn, WA. I came across them through a friend recommendation. I talked to customer service and the sales manager. I filled up a form, right after that was completed the move was scheduled on 2/15/2019. Ed was basically sympathetic, helpful and encouraging that my items would be treated carefully. The movers were quick, respectful and also experienced. The price was very affordable. They provided 4 gentlemen who got lots of working experience and also they diligently took care of the furniture. They ended half an hour before schedule.

For my future move, I will just take this mover and recommended them to anyone seeking to get a highly regarded and highly trained movers. Thanks a ton, the One-Way team! Thanks also to the 4 wonderful movers that were assigned and also to each and everyone that helped me. I really couldn't be happier.

Great service and great price.

My wife and I also didn't think we'd receive a wonderful service like this. One Way Van Lines crew made our move an incredibly awesome as compared to the previous experience by relocating providers these days. There was a time when I would be moving severally all through the States of America virtually a yearly schedule and in many cases, I discovered that it is hard for getting our move done in a suitable way. Back in the day when I will frustrate myself in order to meet up with the expenses and services. But am happy that I came to know this company that made the relocation got some paradise. Everything was so sleek and peaceful. They super-organized our possessions in the best possible way. Ended up saving our items adequately. Helpful persons! We love them because of their supplemental outstanding in the service!

Best experience so far.

I really got a super-service, as this was the first time using movers and I couldn't be satisfied. They landed on time and worked fast and accurately. Everything worked smoothly and before I grasped what was going on, they sent everything to my new house and even they helped me set up the furniture where they should be. The price was very pleasing and the guys were incredible. I definitely recommend!

Quick service!

I had wanted to do the move myself as was a minor packing of just a single bedroom with a few items. But because I have 2 large sofas and a big wardrobe, I made up my mind to hire a moving company. This was a local and a short-distance move..from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The items were packed and delivered the same day. I really liked the teamwork!
